Oklahoma City, Okla. – Johnnie’s, known for its famous burgers and onion rings, will open two new locations and revitalize a third location in the coming months. The Johnnie’s Charcoal Broiler on NW Expressway will close on Thursday, May 31 to make way for a new location to be built in its place next Spring.
“The community surrounding the Johnnie’s on NW Expressway are some of our most devoted and engaged patrons,” Co-Owner and CEO, Rick Haynes said. “We’re excited to offer them a new and improved dining experience.”
Growth plans have been in the works for some time. Owners, Rick and David Haynes, broke ground on two new locations in the cities of Moore and Midwest City late last year. A Johnnie’s Charcoal Broiler is slated to open in the city of Moore in July. Johnnie’s Express, a smaller footprint concept, is planned for Midwest City and will open in the Fall.
“We take pride in being locally and family owned,” Haynes said. “With the additions of Moore and Midwest City, we are serving greater Oklahoma City and its surrounding communities in the best way possible.”
Located at 2305 S Telephone Rd, the location in Moore will feature a large dining space complete with a private room for parties. The Express location in Midwest City, located at 6825 SE 29th St, will serve the same great menu as its big sister concept with the addition of breakfast served from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
Johnnie’s Charcoal Broiler is a piece of Oklahoma history, its long-standing roots dating back to 1971 when Johnnie Haynes opened the first location at Military Rd and Britton Rd in Oklahoma City. Today, Johnnie’s is proud to be a part of many communities in the greater Oklahoma City area serving Oklahoma families quality, fresh-made, charcoal broiled burgers.
